Why Set Goals For Weight-Loss?

Setting goals is by far the easiest way to provide you with the motivation and inspiration you need to make positive changes in your life.

It could be in any area: personal, financial, relational or physical. No matter what area of your life you are looking to improve, goals are the first requisite to turning your dreams into reality!

This principle also applies to losing weight and getting into better physical shape. If you want to better your health, increase your energy levels or improve your digestion, we believe the very first step you should take is to set simple and achievable goals.

What do goals provide you?

Goals provide you with a target to hit and a future gratification that can help drive you to make the necessary changes and habits that will get you to where you want to go!

To make this process the most simple and easy to implement (even if you’re just beginning your health journey) there are 3 simple steps that will clarify your desires (weight-loss, gain muscle, etc) and provide you the proper guidance to help you actually implement them into your practical, daily life!

Step #1- Clarify Your Goals With Specific, Measurable Numbers

Ok, so you want to lose weight. Where do you start? Just wanting to lose weight is NOT enough!

You need to give your brain measurable numbers and specifics to aim for in order to be ultimately successful. You need to define the exact weight you would like to be.

Do you want to weigh 100 lbs, 140 lbs, 200 lbs?

All you have to do is find the specific number you would like to weight and WRITE IT DOWN!

Easiest way to implement and track all of this is to find one blank sheet of paper and at the top write, My Perfect Weight. Line #1 below the title write your number.

Easy as that. Now that you know your perfect weight, let’s go onto step 2 for even further clarification.

Step #2 Find Your Reasonsย 

“Reasons come first, answers come second.” – Jim Rohn

Now that you know you have found your perfect weight, begin to ask yourself questions to find the reasons you WANT to attain this goal.

IF right now you were at your perfect weight,

How would you feel? What would you do? How high would your confidence be? How many more activities would you be able to participate in? How would this positively effect your long-term health? How happy would you be?

Finding your reasons is all about clarifying WHY you want to achieve this perfect weight and help you get emotionally involved with your goal. Motivation and inspiration are all about your emotions. If you have the important reasons why, all of the right habits and people will flow into your life!

Now that you have your reasons written down and have really clarified why you want to lose weight and get healthier, you know have all the requisites to finish your goals and start on step 3.

Step #3 – Outline A Simple Weight-Loss Plan

This final step is where you devise a simple nutrition plan that works with your schedule, is personalized to your goals and body type and helps you commit to the daily activities that bring your goal into reality.

Your plan should be very simple and only cover the basics of health and proper eating habits. Results are 80% nutrition and 20% fitness. Working out IS important, but the main factor in getting real and lasting weight-loss results is all about what you eat and the nutrition you provide yourself with.
