3 Tips to Help You Reach Your Weight Loss Goals in 2017

This is the time of year where so many people have made a New Year’s resolution for weight loss. Typically in January attendance numbers take a dramatic jump at the gym, only to take another monumental decline a few months into the year.

Are you wanting to make 2017 different? Would you like not only to set New Year’s weight loss goals, but actually achieve them?

I’d like to share 3  unique tips to help you reach your weight loss goals in 2017.

If you have struggled to lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle, fill out the form below and let us know how we can help you get back into shape..

Reach Your Weight Loss Goals in 2017

These 3 tips won’t be the normal, same-old advice you’ve probably been hearing from friends and family (who by the way may not be the best people to take advice from). I’m not going to tell you to destroy your body at the gym or eat 5 kale salads everyday.

Why is that?

Because I know that’s not sustainable and no one will actually follow that for the long-term.

So what can you follow?

3 simple principles that can be weaved into any weight loss plan or fitness regimen.

Tip #1 – Get a Coach

This is simple but the results it will help you achieve are dramatic. We all need a friend, accountability partner and someone to challenge us to push past our own limiting beliefs.

A coach is someone who fits all of those parameters.

For weight loss and health/wellness goals a coach may be the most important. Someone to provide you with a meal plan (healthy meals and healthy snacks), who can help you get motivated and help keep track of your results.

Both Kelli and I had awesome results back when we first started our health journey, but without our coaches we never would have achieved our goals!

(I dropped 10% body fat & Kelli lost 20 lbs)

Tip#2 – Stop Letting Other People’s Opinions Sway Your Decisions

This is all about being mentally strong: firm and definite with your decisions. If you want to lose weight or become healthier that’s great, but make sure it’s a real decision, not a “i’ll see how it goes for a week” kinda thing.

Those are not really decisions, they are just a hail mary type of play.

You see, everyone has got opinions, ranging from Bob at the hardware store to Uncle Joey who, after downing 3 Miller Lites, tells you to cut out carbs because “they’re bad for you”.

Obviously a hypothetical joke right there, but if you haven’t made a firm decision someone like Uncle Joey could sway you and change your mind immediately. You need to be mentally strong, know where you’re going and commit to get there no matter what happens or who tries to bring you down.

This is another reason why getting a coach is so important. We help you find what goal it is that you want to achieve and give you a simple, daily routine for you to get there.

Tip# 3 – Get Back To Basics of Good Health and Nutrition

If you’re serious about weight loss this New Year’s, it’s time to get back to the basics and follow a simple plan of good nutrition.

Stop looking for the next fad diet that has found the secret go-go bean and build a daily discipline of eating nutritious foods and exercises that get your body moving and heart pumping.

Follow the simple formula of 80% Nutrition and 20% Fitness. It works every time, with every person.

It’s what we follow and how we help our clients get sustainable results.

Drink more water (how much to drink daily), eat more fruits and vegetables, and follow a workout/exercise plan that you know you can follow for at least a month straight.

Using these basics helps so much in reaching your weight loss goals because simple is always better and more sustainable. You can always count on great nutrition to get the job done.

I hope these 3 tips will help you tremendously in the New Year. Would love for you to share some other ways you have been able to reach your weight loss goals and would appreciate a share with a friend or family member who is trying to get healthy in 2017!
