Meditation For Stress Relief

Stress is a common topic in today’s fast paced and volatile world. Unfortunately, the two main sources of stress seem to come from most important areas: the workplace and at home.

Do you seem to suffer from stress constantly? Does it cause you unwanted anxiety and fear? Would it be of value to learn how you can develop a simple daily habit that will reduce stress and leave you feeling happier?

I’d like to share with you how to use and practice meditation for stress relief and help you to feel more alive and in control of your daily life.

What is Meditation?

Meditation is a simple practice where you sit or lay down comfortably and calm your mind, focus on your breath and just be. Keeping it simple is the most effective way to begin and continue consistently.

Meditation can help shift our minds to focus on positives instead of negatives; blessings instead of complaints. Meditation allows us to train our minds to be still, calm and peaceful. Much of today’s world is a incessantly in motion, constantly shifting from one area of focus to the next seemingly within minutes, much of which is negative and causes us to stress about menial things.

Meditation is a deep spiritual practice that can help us all tap into much higher conscious and awareness levels that we are able to individually. It’s vital to my daily routine and helps me constantly focus on what I have to be thankful for, helps me be happy because of the present moment and being able to experience life as a healthy human being.

That is a basic overview of what mediation is and how powerfully it can help us achieve a more cheerful and joyful outlook on life. Now that you know how valuable it is, i’ll share with you a simple way to practice meditation for stress relief that you can put into practice immediately.

Best App For Meditation & Stress Relief

Before I share with you my specific meditation practice for stress relief I want to make your attention aware of an app on the iTunes store that makes meditation easy, quick and very effective, especially for beginners!

The app is Headspace and I use it on occasion when I only have a short period of time to practice. It’s very user friendly and will extremely help a beginner who has never meditated.

It’s filled with fun games, interactive videos and guided meditations that make practicing mediation for stress relief fun, user-friendly and super addictive! (In a good way)

Simple Practice of Meditation For Stress Relief

This takes very little time to perform each day but the positive benefits you will see are amazing. Less stress, more happiness and increased awareness of the good in your life.


  1. Sit or lay down comfortably in a chair, on the floor.
  2. With headphones, listen to soft, calming music (I listen to relaxing piano melodies or type in “meditation music” on YouTube.)
  3. Close your eyes and begin to count your breaths (Take deep breaths counting from 1-10 repeating the process a few times until completely relaxed)
  4. Do not try to block out thoughts, be aware of thoughts as they come in and accept them for what they are.
  5. Continue with eyes closed for 10-15 mins continuing to breathe deeply and just focusing on the physical sensations of your body.
  6. Meditate for as long as you feel necessary.

An extra thought to boost your mood while meditating is to focus and visualize with your imagination all of the positives in your life. Think about all of the blessings you have and what you’re happy about in your life currently. This has taken my meditation practice to a even greater level. It has helped me to always be aware of what I am thankful for.

I promise that if you commit to 10 straight days of this practice you will immediately begin to feel a greater sense of joy and accomplishment in your life. Your stress will reduce and you will begin to feel a sense of boosted confidence because your focus will be on what you are grateful for.

Meditation for stress relief has been such a blessing in my life and that’s why I feel it is essential for me to share the incredible benefits and how it has helped me. I hope it helps you in the same way.
