The Best Way To Be More Productive In The Car

Driving, we all do it (maybe not too much longer).

But for now it’s a frequent necessity of modern-day life. Whether commuting to work in rush hour or heading out for a road trip, a large chunk of our time can pass behind the wheel.

Do you find yourself frustrated with the monotonous repeat of daily rush hour? Maybe you want to make better use of your time in the car?

I want to share with you the best way to be more productive in the car and how I use it frequently to turn rush hour into power hour.

Let’s first do some quick math to realize just how much the average person spends commuting by car and how that time can be used much more productively..

To make it easy, let’s say John works a 9-5 job and commutes every morning and evening a total of 1 hour (30 mins to work in the morning, 30 minutes to home in the evening). Working Monday-Friday that totals 5 hours per week and 20 hours per month.

That totals up to be a whopping 240 hours every year that John is commuting to and from work!

10 Full Days every single year John is driving in his car. That’s a ton of time spent in one place. How can he use that time to be the most productive?

Listen to audiobooks or personal development CD’s to turn his car into a mobile university!

Every chance we get Kelli and I are always listening to some sort of self-development program like Tony Robbin’s Unleash The Power Within or Jim Rohn’s The Art Of Exceptional Living.

Using the time while driving provides such an enhancement to our progress and overall mindset because we are continually learning. Audiobooks and programs like these help us to keep a positive mindset and give us continual insights to how we can be a more effective person for ourselves, our families, our relationship and also as health coaches.

“Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning.” – Benjamin Franklin

In our philosophy as health coaches and as partners, Kelli and I ascribe to the adage of you’re either expanding or contracting. There is no middle ground of stability. We challenge ourselves to continually improve our skills and mindset so we can better provide to our team, our business and our community.

“The secret to living is giving”, and one cannot give without first giving to oneself!

That’s why it’s so important to use audiobooks and programs to continually feed your mind the very best information and knowledge and therefore give you the capacity to give value to others.

Jim Rohn always said, “You can miss a meal, but you can’t miss your reading.” No matter what, 30 mins of your day should be spent learning some new information to expand your mind or your skills and abilities. The best part is you can achieve your 30 mins while listening to these programs to be more productive in the car!

So now that you know what to do, what’s the best way to gain access to valuable audiobooks and programs to listen to?
