80/20 Rule of Nutrition & Fitness

Let’s start with a simple question that’s misunderstood frequently..

What is the 80/20 Rule of Nutrition and Fitness?

The simple answer is:

80% of results come from nutrition and 20% come from fitness.

Nutrition constitutes what we eat in the kitchen – foods we eat and supplements we choose to use. Feeding our bodies with nutritious and energizing foods is the focal point of a sound nutrition program.

Fitness is based upon the workouts and physical exercise we do. Whether that is lifting weights, participating in sports or doing cardio.

So the first step to getting the results we want is  choosing to fuel our bodies with the right foods. Fitness is still important, but should be a secondary concern.

Stay away from fad diets or quick fixes, they will never work. If you want true and lasting results, begin with the basics of good nutrition.

Eat small portioned meals 5-7 times throughout the day that consist of 4-6 oz of lean protein, green vegetables and a serving of a complex carb like brown rice or quinoa.

Focus 80% on your daily diet and what you eat, 20% on your fitness plan. Commit to at least 4-6 weeks of following the same program and your results will be extraordinary!
